How we check facts
Every number, date, price and rule on this site carries a numbered source link. Park fees, moorings, anchoring, the no-take zone and permits come only from the Bahamas National Trust or Bahamas government pages.
Source order
- Park rules and fees: the Bahamas National Trust (bnt.bs) and Bahamas government sites (*.gov.bs), such as Bahamas Customs for cruising permits. Marked BNT or GOV in each page's source list.
- Places, history and wildlife: the Trust, the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, reference works and established press.
- Prices of tours, flights, marinas and hotels: the operator's own page, with the date we read it.
How citations work
A small number after a sentence, such as 1, jumps to the source list at the bottom of the page. Each source shows who published it, its domain and the date we last checked it.
What we leave out
If a fact has no source we can link, we do not publish it. We do not write about places as if we had visited them, and we do not pass on forum rumours as rules.
Updates and corrections
Each page shows the date it was last updated. Fees change, usually at the start of a season, so check the Trust's own pages before you pay. If you spot an error, tell us through the contact page and include the source. Corrections are listed on the corrections page.
