Fuel, water and provisioning in the Exumas: what the Staniel Cay marina sells

Stock up before you enter the Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park, top off at a marina on your way through, and carry your trash out of the park².

Where can you buy fuel and water in the Exumas?

These marinas list fuel, water, ice or dock limits on their own pages. Confirm prices and hours at the dock before you plan a stop.

What does the Staniel Cay Yacht Club marina charge?

Staniel Cay Yacht Club’s marina offers fuel, electricity in single and three-phase, fresh RO water, ice and bait¹. The prices below are from its marina page, seen 18 October 2026. Ask at the dock for the fuel price.

At USD 0.40 a gallon, filling 100 gallons of water comes to USD 40¹. Ask which electrical connection suits your boat before you tie up.

Because the fuel dock closes at 5 p.m.¹, an afternoon arrival leaves little slack. Aim to reach the dock well before closing, or plan to fill first thing the next morning.

Where can you buy groceries?

Staniel Cay sells fresh produce, canned goods and paper products at The Blue Store, Pink Store or Isles General Store⁷. Black Point Yacht Club’s own description lists two grocery stores, a post office, three local restaurants and an airstrip at Black Point¹⁰.

In George Town, Exuma Markets calls itself Exuma’s largest grocery store, with fresh produce, dairy, meats and groceries¹². It also has its own dinghy dock in Lake Victoria, complete with a free fresh water supply¹².

Compass Cay Marina says most of its guests buy as much as they are permitted to pack aboard the plane at their last departure point⁷.

Can you throw trash away inside the park?

Trash disposal is not available within Exuma park. Take out everything you bring into the park².

Trash goes off the boat at a marina outside the park, and the Staniel Cay marina charges USD 8 a bag, plus tax¹. Highbourne Cay’s marina lists recycling for aluminium cans, glass and oil⁸. Decant dry goods into reusable containers before you leave Nassau or Highbourne, and flatten cartons so they take less space. The park rules cover the rest.

How do charter guests provision?

If you charter in the Exumas, much of this is handled for you:

• The Moorings requires provisioning to be ordered 6 days before the charter start date³.
• It says it offers Full Fuel Flexibility³.
• A full tank of fuel is included in the price for its sailing yachts⁴.

Does the mail boat carry supplies to the Exumas?

How should you plan the supply run?
